Nail adhesives are usually produced on the basis of cyanoacrylate. They are a kind of superglue, solvent-free and cold-curing. They polymerise under moisture, i.e. they melt into larger molecules and harden under pressure to a high degree. Nail glue withstands temperatures from minus 50 degrees to 130 degrees. Within seconds he connects materials like wood, metal or ceramics – and even artificial fingernails.

The first question to be answered is whether a natural nail should be putty or whether artificial fingernails should be processed. Bonding torn natural nails often proves to be difficult because the repair usually only lasts temporarily and the nail cannot be saved over a longer period of time. Nevertheless, you can use some nail glue, for example with the Fing’rs Brush-on nail glue and repair set. The nail is first filed and smoothed on the torn area, possibly also polished. The nail adhesive is then applied to the area with a brush. After drying, the area is filed again and any excess is removed. Since the adhesive dries transparently, this can even be done without subsequent varnishing. In most cases, the spot does not catch the eye, but leaves a natural appearance. If you want to be on the safe side when gluing, you can also use the tea bag method. Simply cut a tea bag and glue it together with the nail glue onto the torn area. This provides additional support and also protects the area from getting stuck again at the crack edge. When buying, you should make sure that the adhesive is as gentle as possible to the natural nail, dries quickly and can be removed again if necessary. As a rule, fast drying and low allergy adhesives are more expensive than conventional products.

It is hard to imagine the professional application of artificial fingernails without nail glue. A tip glue should work as gently as possible and guarantee strong adhesion. A good choice is the HQ-free adhesive from Jolifin, which has long proven itself in professional nail modelling. It guarantees a long lasting nail design and behaves gently to the natural nails, without the tips falling off after a short time again. It is very easy to use as it is used in a similar way to nail polish. It is usually applied with a brush and is just as easy to spread.

Especially in the field of artificial nails it is advantageous if nail glue can be removed easily and quickly. However, the adhesive adheres extremely strongly and cannot be removed without auxiliary means. Ideally, the gel nails should be filed off so as not to damage the natural nail unnecessarily. If this takes too long for you, you have to resort to solvents. Either special solution liquids such as pure acetone mixed with some water or acetone-containing nail polish remover are used. The nails are first bathed for 10 minutes in the mixture, then the artificial nails can be easily loosened. Suitable are high-quality products like the essie nail polish remover good as gone. If you like it more comfortable, you can also use special thimbles to bathe your nails, for example with thimbles with acetone nail polish remover for gel or acrylic nails, to soak Accenter or Gel Polish Remover Wraps from Cidbest. Since acetone damages the natural nails, it is recommended not to apply new artificial nails immediately after removal, but to care for them with a rich nail cream.
