If you love your car, you push it. The saying is not only very well known to most people, but also describes very well the relationship that many Germans have to their own vehicle. But if you take care of your car regularly and keep it in good condition, you probably won’t have to push your car in the first place. However, in addition to regular driving through the car wash, cleaning the engine is also very important in order to ensure enduring functionality. This is made possible by so-called engine cleaners. But how do they actually work, how is the handling handled and how is the cleaning carried out? And why is regular cleaning of the engine so important?

How do the engine cleaners work and how are they applied? Both the application and the functioning of the different engine cleaners are very simple and identical for each product. The engine cleaners are brought into the engine circuit. The already described deposits can be dissolved by the special components. Together with the oil and the engine cleaner, these dissolved deposits are transported out of the engine so that the engine can work much cleaner and more efficiently afterwards. Since an engine today is much more complicated than it was a few years ago, special requirements are placed here. For example, the engine cleaners must not damage the seals and the catalytic converter, as otherwise expensive repairs would be necessary in the workshop. Basically, all available engine cleaners today meet these requirements, but you should make sure before buying that this is explicitly stated by the manufacturer. The handling is very simple. Most engine cleaners are added directly to the oil when the oil is changed. Since the old oil can then be drained off together with the engine cleaner, no residues remain in the engine. The application lasts, depending on the chosen some of course, usually only a few minutes, approx. 15 minutes should be planned here. The new oil can then be filled in without any problems.

Car Parts & Accessories: Engine cleaner Video Guide

Why should the engine be cleaned regularly? The fact that the engine should be cleaned regularly in order to maintain as long and flawless a performance as possible is basically not a new insight, but is unfortunately still not carried out by most people today. The cleaning of the engine should not only be carried out on the car, but if possible also on the scooter and motorcycle. However, it should always be ensured that a compatible engine cleaner is used before the actual execution. This is not always the case with various motorcycles in particular, as using the wrong product can cause serious damage to the engine. But why is it so important to clean the engine? The reasons for this are actually completely plausible and very easy to understand. During normal use of the engine, deposits and dirt are formed in the pipes and tanks. These can be oil or fuel residues, for example, but other deposits can also be caused by external influences. As long as these deposits remain in the mimic, this is basically not a problem. Over time, however, these deposits accumulate and can cause damage to the engine due to the accumulation.
