Until a few years ago, tube TV dominated the German living rooms. The transmission of television pictures was only developed in the last century. Less than ninety years ago, more precisely in 1930, Manfred von Ardennen succeeded in attempting to show a television picture on the cathode ray tube developed by Ferdinand Braun, later called the Braun tube.
