
The Japanese company Frontier Works today announced a new original anime entitled “Special Crime Investigation Unit Special 7” (Japanese: “Keishichō Tokumu-bu Tokushu Kyōaku-han Taisaku-Shitsu Dai-Nana-ka -Tokunana-“), which is scheduled to launch in Japan this fall. A first trailer, character designs including speaker as well as a visual can be found below in the article.
The anime is directed by Harume Kosaka (“Saint Beast”) and Takayuki Kuriyama (“Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion”). Yuichiro Higashide (“Fate/Apocrypha”) is responsible for the series composition, while Hiroya Iijima (“Afro Samurai”) animates the original character designs of Mangaka Nanae Chrono (“Peace Maker”).
The story of the series takes place in an alternative Tokyo in another world and follows Tokunana, a unit of assembled outsiders from the Metropolitan Police Department. Tokunana fights against “Nine” – an organization that commits crimes by worshipping the dragons that once roamed the world.
