The term assembly foam covers various foams that are used in the installation, bonding and backfilling of prefabricated building components. In most cases this foam is based on polyurethane. This is why assembly foam is often referred to as PU foam. In addition, there are some other common names for assembly foam, which can vary depending on the specific application of the individual foams. Assembly foam, for example, is also referred to as construction foam, insulating foam or insulating foam, as well as filling foam or frame foam. All these foams have a very high adhesive strength and adhere to numerous materials that can be joined or securely fixed with their help. If fresh, even softer foam is applied to textiles, for example, it can hardly be removed due to its sticky consistency and leaves permanent stains.
