What is a rescue blanket at all? A rescue blanket has several advantages and purposes when used directly, but the main function is always to protect the patient. On the one hand, the blanket can provide heat retention, but on the other hand it also offers effective protection against wind, rain and other influences. The ceiling is not made in the classical ceiling shape, as it is known from the sofa or the bed. Rather, it is a thin and ultra-modern film made of high-tech materials. The ceiling is only a few millimetres thick and can therefore, despite its size, be stowed in the first-aid kit without any problems and can also be taken along if necessary. Rather, by reflecting the radiation, the body is supplied with heat again. In the instructions, the manufacturers of the ceilings give tips for the correct application so that the rescue ceiling can really develop the desired effect. If the ceiling is used to provide protection from the cold, the silver side should be on the inside. The situation is different, however, if the ceiling is used to provide protection from the heat of the sun’s rays. In this case the silver side of the ceiling should be used outside. However, studies in recent years have shown that the differences between the two sides are so small that they are hardly noticeable in daily use.
