The foam water serves as a lubricating film so that the cleaning clay can absorb the dirt better and glides easily over the paint. The difference can be tested with a microfibre glove before and after the treatment. Before using the cleaning clay, unevenness can still be felt, while afterwards it feels like the surface of glass, smooth and flawless.
