Abdominal trainer models differ in the number of electrodes that can be positioned differently to stimulate the lateral abdominal muscles, for example. The Beurer EM 35 has four electrodes, while the Sanitas SEM 30 has only two electrodes. In contrast to other devices, the models mentioned here do not require a gel to reduce the contact resistance between skin and electrode, as they are water contact electrodes.

Scientists contradict the claims of the manufacturers. Therefore, great abdominal muscles are not possible without effective abdominal muscle training. So an electric belt can be meaningful as a supplement to sporty activity and healthy nutrition, but it cannot produce a six-pack. The use of a sweat belt leads to water loss rather than fat loss.
